Frequently Asked Questions

Are Joyful Connections services covered by insurance?

Yes! We are in-network with Blue Cross, Aetna, and Medicaid and are happy to submit insurance claims on your behalf.

For out-of-network plans, your insurance may cover a portion of the cost of services, with the remaining balance being your responsibility. We can provide a superbill with the information needed for you to submit a claim directly to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Because every insurance plan is different, we encourage families to contact their insurance provider to understand their specific out-of-network benefits, deductibles, reimbursement rates, and coverage requirements. Ultimately, clients are responsible for verifying their benefits and for any costs not covered by insurance.

We strive to make the insurance process as simple as possible so families can focus on what matters most—their child’s care.

Can you speak with my child's school or daycare?

Yes. The Joyful Connections approach includes communication and collaboration with other related service providers, teachers, and caregivers. You will need to sign a release form before contact is initiated between Joyful Connections and outside agencies.

How does the client portal work?

The client portal through the Simple Practice platform is a secure, HIPAA-compliant program that allows users to upload and share information safely. Once you have scheduled an evaluation, you will be sent a link and prompted to create a secure password for your portal. The credit or debit card you enter will be encrypted, and all documentation (e.g., progress notes, invoices, etc.) is available through your portal. For private pay clients, the fee for service is automatically debited at the end of the day. Zelle and Apple Pay are also accepted.
